A Legacy of Cabinetmaking Software — The Roger Taylor Story
Early years (Tuscaloosa, Alabama)
Roger Taylor grew up in a cabinet shop, learning story pole methods and studying math and computer engineering.
Late 1980s
Roger collaborates with Larry Cornwell to further develop Cabinet Vision, pioneering computer-aided cabinet design for small shops. The first versions run on DOS.
Mid-199s
Cabinet Vision transitions from DOS to Windows, enabling more powerful features. During this period, Roger introduces the concept “Screen to Machine”, allowing cabinet designs to be sent directly to CNC machines for fabrication.
1998
Cabinet Vision Solid wins the Challengers Award at the International Woodworking Fair (IWF). Around this time, Cabinet Vision is sold to investors, and Roger stays on as president for several years.
Early 2000s
Roger left and started MachineWorx (CNC equipment) and WoodWorx (cabinet shop/test lab).
2005
Roger begins developing Mozaik Software, focusing on affordability and accessibility for small to mid-sized shops. Mozaik introduces a subscription model and a three-month trial—a revolutionary approach at the time.
2012
Mozaik software launched at IWF, quickly gaining popularity among small and mid-sized shops.
2010s
Mozaik’s success continues, fueled by a community of trainers who are former cabinet makers. The company becomes known for its customer-first philosophy and easy learning curve.

Roger sells Mozaik Software to Cyncly, securing its growth and continuity under a global organization.
Today
Mozaik remains true to its founder’s mission: providing simple, powerful, and affordable software for cabinet makers. Roger’s career—from hand-measured story poles to digital G-code output—represents a lifelong commitment to combining craftsmanship and technology.
